Colton and Afton }{ August 5, 2017

Updated: Jan 31, 2020

This was my first wedding in three years; by choice. I have cut back significantly in order to focus more on my main job...being a mommy to my four and one year old boys. Having seen my past work and wedding album design, this sweet couple wouldn't take no for an answer and told me up front that they didn't care how long things took just as long as I could be the one to do their wedding! What a compliment! I was honored to be a part of their day and like always, we had so much fun!!

The day started off as a bride's worst nightmare. Afton woke up with a horrible migraine (I'll spare you the details of what she went through before I had arrived) so when I showed up and heard, I immediately grabbed my little pouch of doTerra's incredible essential oils, got to work on her and prayed over that sweet girl. Within an hour she was able to sit up and open her eyes. After another hour I saw her first smile. She was amazed. She frequently experiences these and explained to me that usually she is in bed for the entire day! What relief we all felt!! Throughout the remainder of the day, I kept her oiled up to help carry her through as it didn't completely go away, but the oils that I had with me had dulled it enough to allow her to enjoy her special day...and special it was!! I was not just the photographer that day, but also affectionately referred to as Doctor Courtney by Colton as I was strict with her on her food and water intake, rest, etc. You never know what you will run into on wedding days and I am grateful to have been able to be a part of helping this great couples day turn from dreary to beautiful through some of of my other passions; prayer, holistic care, health and wellness.

A few details from the day:

*Everything took place at The Gallagher in Medina, NY.--There were more places to take photos than we had time! It was stinkin' awesome!

*Dress-- Alfred Angelo

*Rings-- Firths Jewelers

*Every reception detail, cake holders, frames, signs, etc were made by the very crafty and creative bride herself.

*Invitation design-- Tim McFadden

*Flowers--Piccirillo's Florist

*Photography Assistant/Second Shooter-- My artsy big brother Tim McFadden

*Hair--Heide Maines

*Makeup-- Katie McFadden

Colton's surprise wedding gift. Now that's my kind of present!!

She's stunning, isn't she?

Bullet Casing's as boutonniere's. How clever is that??!!

The groomsmen always seem to have more fun than the bridesmaids which always equals fun photos.

Love this spot. Love his heart.

A pretty incredible view of this venue...I climbed an extension ladder held by the owner, onto a loft with no railing to get this! #WorthIt

Cupcake holder made by the bride!

There ain't nothing sweeter than a boy who loves his mama...speaking from a mom of two very quickly growing boys.

Parents of the groom!

Parents of the bride!

Awesome dance floor here!!

These two sisters are in their 80's and still sharp!

I love when we can sneak away for a few minutes when there are no more time restraints!!

Their first fur baby!

Voluntarily admiring the rings. Such a sweet moment!

Catching the groom admiring his beautiful bride.

Love this!

Brother and sister

Dancing at the end of the night with no pressures brings about some fun photos!!
