My Living Hope

Since I was a very little girl, singing for Jesus has brought me to life more than anything else. For most of my adult years, I would be so intensely nervous that I would ask myself why I allowed myself to be put in this position. Simultaneously, the louder voice of the One greater would remind me that I was not there for myself, but for HIM. He would carry me through just like He had EVERY other time.
By the end, I would forget that I even felt that way. Jesus and I had worked together in giving the enemy another spiritual punch in the face.
Despite all of the obstacles I have encountered in the worship leading department, my love for Jesus and singing music rooted in truth is what has kept me from giving up. God has unveiled some things for me in the voice department in recent months and I intend to use them to give my beautiful Jesus the honor and glory that He deserves until my dying breath.
Lindsay Burnette, you have seen things in me that I couldn’t see in myself. You see as Jesus does and you take your valuable time to teach, encourage, and strengthen me. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for you. The same goes for Chloe, Jeremy, Rocky, Alisha, Steven, Aidan, and Andrew.
I’m looking forward to seeing what God continues to do through all of us at Discovery Church and in our personal lives. May we never lose sight of the mission God has given us and the specific location He has placed us to do so.
And thank you to vocal coach, Priscilla Onyee. God used you in a mighty way and I pray you are encouraged to continue to do His work.
